Aug 4, 2025Discover the East Bristol Brewery Trail This August – Stay in St Annes
If you’re planning a summer trip to Bristol this August, you’re in for a treat. The East Bristol Brewery Trail returns over the August Bank Holiday weekend (23rd–24th August 2025), bringing together some of the city’s finest independent breweries for two days of tastings, street food, live music, and good vibes.
And the best bit? If you’re staying at our Matchstick Stays apartments in St Annes, you’ll be perfectly placed to enjoy all the action—close enough to join the fun, but far enough to retreat to peace and quiet at the end of the day.

Why the East Bristol Brewery Trail?
The East Bristol Brewery Trail is a self‑guided beer tour where six local breweries open their doors for the weekend. This happens twice a year once in May and in August. I had my first visit to the trail in May and managed 4 of the 6 breweries, not because I ran out of steam but because I ran out of time and my companion was a non-drinker. However non-alcoholic beer is well catered for. We started from little Martha's a short stroll from Temple Meads as we had taken the local train to start our trail. Little Marthas can be found under the railway arches and is a good place to start. Although it depends on your location in the City. For st, annes I would suggest probably Moor Beer. It can get very busy so I would suggest starting earlier in the day and there are plenty of food outlets to soak up the beer.
This year’s breweries include:
- Arbor Ales – Known for bold, hoppy beers and creative seasonal specials.
- Good Chemistry Brewing – Fresh, approachable beers made with balance in mind.
- Left Handed Giant – A Bristol favourite with a mix of modern craft and traditional styles.
- Little Martha Brewing – A cosy microbrewery with a passion for experimentation.
- Wiper & True – Sleek, modern brewing with refined flavours.
- Moor Beer – Unfiltered, naturally carbonated beers with a punchy character.
